Lemon Pepper Chicken Recipe 

Ingredients

  1. Chicken (500 grams) with bones
  2. Grounded Peppercorns
  3. 1 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  4. 1 spoon Garam masala
  5. 1 cup Cornflour
  6. 1 spoon lime juice
  7. 1 cup beaten curd
  8. 1 chopped garlic
  9. 3 to 4 chopped chillies
  10. 1 clove of ginger (julian cut)
  11. 1 spoon chopped coriander leaves
  12. 3 to 4 spoons of oil
  13. Salt to taste
  14. 1 lime (cut in thin slice)

Method:

  1. I) For Marination
  1. In a bowl take the Chicken and add the Ginger garlic paste along with the grounded peppercorns, garam masala, lime juice and Curd
  2. Mix well and keep it aside for 30 minutes
  1. II) For Gravy
  1. In a pan add about 3 to 4 spoons of oil. Once the oil is heated add the finely chopped garlic along with the chopped chilli. Keep frying till it turns golden brown
  2. Once the Garlic and chilli are fried add the marinated pieces of chicken only (Do not use the entire marination masala).
  3. Keep frying the chicken till it changes colour and oil starts separating.
  4. Now add the leftover marination masala and mix it well with the chicken. Now cover the chicken and cook it for about 5 minutes on medium flame

Note: Do not add water because the chicken will cook in the water that is released from the curd.

  1. Now in another bowl add the cornflour and water and make a nice paste
  2. Open the lid of the chicken and add the cornflour mix and cook well for about 7 minutes.
  3. Add ½ spoon of cornflour and mix well.
  4. Add the julian cut ginger and chillies and and the thinly sliced lime
  5. Cover and cook for another 3 minutes.
  6. Garnish with coriander and voila lemon pepper chicken is ready to serve
