Patna: The Bihar First Bihari First Maharally, organised by Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) and originally scheduled for 28th November at Gandhi Maidan, Patna, has been postponed. The announcement was made by the party’s state president, Raju Tiwari, citing the Union Minister and party national president Chirag Paswan’s busy schedule with upcoming elections.
Chirag Paswan is currently focused on the by-elections for four assembly constituencies in Bihar and assembly elections in other states. Additionally, the PACS elections in Bihar, scheduled from 26th November to 3rd December, contributed to the decision to reschedule the rally.
Foundation Day Celebrations to Continue
A letter issued earlier by Raju Tiwari had informed party workers about the rally coinciding with the party’s Foundation Day on 28th November. However, the rally will now be organised in February or March 2025 after consultation with Chirag Paswan. Meanwhile, the party will mark its Foundation Day at its office in Patna.
This year’s celebration holds special significance as it will be the first Foundation Day observed in the office previously used by Chirag Paswan’s father, the late Ram Vilas Paswan. The office, located near Patna Airport, had been occupied by the Pashupati Kumar Paras-led Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party following the split in the LJP.
Office Reallocation
The office, situated on Wheeler Road, was originally allotted to the Lok Janshakti Party in 2004 and served as the hub of Ram Vilas Paswan’s political journey. Recently, after the Building Construction Department cancelled its allotment to the Paras faction, the premises were vacated and reallotted to LJP (Ram Vilas). Chirag Paswan formally reclaimed the office on Friday.
The upcoming rally is expected to highlight the party’s renewed focus on its vision of “Bihar First, Bihari First.”
