Mumbai: Prime Video released its first French young adult original film, You+Me – Against the World, on September 18, 2026. The romantic drama is adapted from Emma Green’s bestselling Toi+Moi trilogy, which has sold nearly one million copies in France.
The film is directed by Manon Gaurin and produced by Originals by Trésor. It premiered in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.

The story follows Alma Lancaster, 18, who appears to lead a perfect life within a wealthy family that believes she is studying law. In secret, she pursues her true dream of filmmaking.
On campus, she meets Vadim Arcadi, 20, a magnetic and solitary rebel with a troubled past. Forced to collaborate on a student film, they clash, grow closer, and fall in love despite themselves.
Someone is watching them, determined to tear them apart and expose secrets that could destroy both Alma and Vadim. The film blends romance with a thriller subplot involving anonymous threats and a criminal connection.

Vittoria Di Savoia, a real-life Italian princess, makes her acting debut as Alma Lancaster. Lucas Barski plays Vadim Arcadi.
The supporting cast includes Aymeric Fougeron, Zoé Garcia, Léo Legrand, and Gabrielle Taittinger. The film was written by Manon Gaurin, Eliane Vigneron, and Alix Letribot.
The film runs 1 hour and 34 minutes. It is rated for sexual content and illegal drugs.
Reception and Ending
Critical reception has been mixed. The Sunday Guardian gave the film 2.5 out of 5 stars, noting that the leads have chemistry but the film has too many problems.
Leisurebyte described it as a dud, writing that it is fun for a forgettable one-time romp but does not differentiate itself from other young adult dramas.
The ending sees Alma make a difficult choice. Her father offers to help Vadim avoid a long prison sentence if she leaves for Paris and stays away from him. She agrees, sacrificing their relationship to protect him.
Alma eventually goes to Los Angeles to claim her parents’ inheritance. Vadim remains in the country due to legal restrictions. Their student film survives, credited as You+Me, a film by Alma Lancaster and Vadim Arcadi.

The film trended on social media ahead of its release. The teaser trailer set social media abuzz, and the casting of Vittoria Di Savoia alongside Lucas Barski drew praise from literary fans.
On Prime Video, the film reached number four in drama movies and number eight in romance movies. It is streaming exclusively on Prime Video globally.
The film is the first French young adult Prime Original, debuting ahead of the series Campus Drivers, expected by the end of the year. A sequel film is already being discussed, as the ending leaves the door open for more story.
