Patna: In line with fulfilling the growing requirements of National Education Policy 2020, Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bodh Gaya and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Patna, have officially signed an Addendum to their existing Memorandum of Understanding, finalizing the operational framework for the integrated five-year dual degree programme. Dr. (Prof.) Vinita Singh Sahay, Director, IIM Bodh Gaya and Dr. (Prof.) T.N. Singh, Director, IIT Patna, signed the Addendum on behalf of their respective institutes.
This full-time residential program, offering a total intake of 60 seats, follows a 3+2 model wherein students complete their three-year B.Tech./BS component at IIT Patna before transitioning to IIM Bodh Gaya for their two-year MBA component. The program has been meticulously designed targeting the future technocrats by seamlessly integrating engineering, science, and interdisciplinary courses with business education.
A key highlight of this collaboration between two rapidly growing Institute(s) of National Importance is that eligible candidates gain admissions directly through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling based on their Joint Entrance Examination(Advanced) rank, allowing them to secure a prestigious management seat without appearing for the Common Admission Test(CAT).
The program’s lifecycle is carefully designed to integrate the distinct academic traditions of both institutions. While, the incoming batches shall attend their induction ceremony at IIT Patna, they shall be awarded the joint degree certificate in the convocation ceremony to be held at IIM Bodh Gaya. Moreover, as students approach the completion of their dual degree, a comprehensive and joint placement support shall be provided by the placement cells of both the Institutes ensuring robust techno-functional career opportunities in the rapidly changing area of Artificial Intelligence, Health Care Management, Supply Chain, Telecommunications and Digital Public Infrastructure amongst others.
To support students through this rigorous academic journey, IIM Bodh Gaya and IIT Patna shall provide the necessary Need-Based Financial Assistance (NBFA) for the respective MBA and BTech fee component in accordance with their prevailing scholarship policies.
