Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Saturday inaugurated the newly constructed hangar of the Bihar Flying Institute at Patna Airport and launched the Bihar Heli-Tourism and Air Tourism Service Scheme 2026 by flagging off the Patna helicopter joy ride, saying the initiative would boost tourism, attract investment and create employment opportunities while encouraging young people to pursue careers in the aviation sector.

As part of the Bihar Heli-Tourism and Air Tourism Service Scheme 2026, the Chief Minister formally launched the Patna helicopter joy ride by presenting tickets to the first batch of tourists. On the occasion, he also awarded Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) certificates to four successful candidates — Captain Kumar Dhairya, Captain Genius Vivek, Captain Karn Kumar Bharti and Captain Sonal Man Singh — and wished them success in their future careers.
The Chief Minister said Bihar’s youth should move forward in the modern and promising field of aviation and showcase their talent at both national and international levels.

He said the Bihar Heli-Tourism and Air Tourism Service Scheme 2026 would give a fresh impetus to tourism in the state by offering visitors a unique aerial view of Bihar’s historical, religious, cultural and natural attractions. The initiative, he added, would promote tourism, attract investment and generate new employment opportunities at the local level.
Choudhary said the state government was committed to giving Bihar a new identity through the development of infrastructure in the tourism and civil aviation sectors.

He said that innovative initiatives such as heli-tourism and air tourism would further strengthen Bihar’s tourism landscape and attract visitors from across India and abroad.
Deputy Chief Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav, Tourism Minister Kedar Prasad Gupta, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Deepak Kumar, Secretary to the Chief Minister Lokesh Kumar Singh, Civil Aviation Department Secretary Nilesh Ramchandra Deore, Inspector General of Police (Patna Range) Jitendra Rana, Tourism Director Udayan Mishra, Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation Managing Director Nand Kishore, Patna Senior Superintendent of Police Kartikeya K. Sharma, other senior officials and tourists participating in the helicopter joy ride were present at the event.
