Patna: Haryana cruised to a commanding nine-wicket victory over Bihar in the Senior Women’s One Day Trophy at the Air Force Complex Ground, New Delhi. After winning the toss, Bihar opted to bat first but could only muster 103 runs for nine wickets in their allotted 50 overs. Haryana chased down the target with ease, scoring 108 runs for the loss of one wicket in just 16.3 overs. Diya Yadav, who played a stellar innings, was named Player of the Match. With this win, Haryana claimed the full four points.
Bihar’s batting struggled against Haryana’s disciplined bowling attack. Vishalakshi top-scored with 20 runs off 62 balls, including two fours, while Harshita contributed 26 runs off 41 balls, hitting three boundaries. Preeti (15 runs off 48 balls, two fours) and Apoorva Kumari (14 runs off 33 balls, two fours) provided brief resistance. However, the rest of the batting line-up failed to make an impact, with Arya Seth dismissed for a duck, Yashita Singh managing just 2 runs, and Captain Pragati Singh adding 9. Rachna Singh remained unbeaten on 5, with Apoorva and Preeti Kumari adding 1 run each.
Haryana’s bowlers dominated the innings, with Sheetal Rana picking up 3 wickets for just 13 runs. Suman Gulia claimed 2 wickets for 20 runs, while Ragini Lathwal, Triveni Vashisht, and Sonia Mendhiya chipped in with a wicket each, conceding 24, 9, and 26 runs, respectively.
In their chase, Haryana’s batters were in fine form. Diya Yadav led the charge with an unbeaten 52 runs, supported by Reema Sisodia, who remained not out on 45. Shefali Verma added 8 runs to the total. Bihar’s sole wicket came courtesy of Rachna Singh, who gave away 17 runs.
Bihar’s next match is scheduled against Saurashtra on 8 December.
