Tejashwi Yadav Demands Solution for Bihar BPSC 70th Exam Issues, Threatens Protest Support

By Neeraj Kumar

Patna: Former Deputy Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav, has raised concerns regarding the 70th Combined Preliminary Examination of the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC). In a letter addressed to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, he demanded urgent action to resolve the issues faced by candidates. Yadav also warned that if these problems are not addressed promptly, he will stand alongside the protesters in their fight.

In his letter, Yadav highlighted that candidates were facing difficulties due to server malfunctions at the BPSC, which resulted in many being unable to submit their application forms. The technical fault, which occurred just days before the deadline, left lakhs of candidates unable to complete the process, severely impacting their future prospects. The Leader of Opposition accused the commission of dismissing these affected candidates as frivolous, further compounding the problem.

Yadav also pointed out that candidates and their families have yet to receive clarity on whether the commission will implement a system of “normalisation” for the examination. Despite completing their forms, candidates have not been provided with adequate information regarding the examination process, which Yadav termed as unjust. He expressed concerns over the controversial nature of the normalisation system, stating that the difficulty of a question depends on a candidate’s preparation and understanding, not the commission’s arbitrary approach.

The RJD leader called for an extension of the application deadline by five days, arguing that this would allow candidates who missed the opportunity due to the server failure to submit their forms. He further demanded that the BPSC reconsider the normalisation process, insisting that the examination should be conducted in a fair and transparent manner, with one paper, one shift, one pattern, and no risk of paper leaks.

Tejashwi Yadav concluded by warning the government that if the candidates’ demands are ignored, his party will support the protesters in their struggle. He called on the NDA government to cease jeopardising the future of students and undermining their dreams.
