Patna: On the occasion of Fire Service Week, a fire mock drill was conducted at Hotel Maurya by trained staff to demonstrate emergency preparedness and response. During the exercise, employees showcased effective fire-fighting techniques, drawing attention to safety protocols within the premises.
As soon as a fire alert was triggered through the alarm system, the marshal team sprang into action. Guests were evacuated safely, one by one, using an emergency ladder. Following the evacuation, Hotel Maurya Administrator RK Singh provided first aid, including blood pressure checks, before the guest was transported by ambulance to the nearby Rainbow Hospital.
Ajit Kumar, Sub-Divisional Fire Officer, Patna, who attended the event as the chief guest, shared crucial insights on fire safety with the hotel staff. Other dignitaries, including Dr Karim and Dr Deepak Sharan from the Red Cross Society, Chandraprakash Singh, Vice-President of INTUC, and Prof Madhubala, an expert in disaster management, also expressed their views on fire safety measures.
Hotel Maurya Managing Director Aditya Prakash Sinha emphasised the importance of safety, while Executive Director BD Singh elaborated on fire prevention strategies and awareness. Hotel Manager Pratyush Tripathi also addressed the gathering.

While conducting the programme, Administrator RK Singh highlighted that the hotel is equipped with a comprehensive range of fire safety systems, including fire extinguishers, a public address system, advanced sprinkler system, fire alarms, hydrant system, foam jets, and fire smoke extractors. He further noted that 176 CCTV cameras have been installed across the premises for round-the-clock surveillance.
He affirmed that all necessary arrangements are in place to effectively tackle fire emergencies. The vote of thanks was delivered by Rajiv Kumar, CFO. The mock drill witnessed the participation of the marshal team along with staff from various departments of Hotel Maurya.
