Patna: “We will create a ‘Bihar Tech’ portal for start-ups and industry, which will accelerate the state’s development and growth,” said Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary while addressing an interactive session with IT industry representatives and start-up founders at Rajiv Nagar in Patna on Friday.
The programme, held at the Software Technology Park of India (STPI), saw the presence of Union Minister for Railways, Communications, Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw. Several representatives from IT companies, start-ups, and industry associations shared their experiences and suggestions during the session.
The Chief Minister said Bihar was fortunate to have the opportunity to engage directly with IT industry stakeholders. He assured that their suggestions would be given a proper platform and implemented wherever feasible. Referring to the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a developed India and the efforts initiated under former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, he stressed that the state government was working continuously to realise the dream of a prosperous Bihar.
Highlighting infrastructure development, he said the government had identified nearly two lakh acres of land and was developing 11 new satellite townships. He emphasised that there was no shortage of land in the state and that farmers were being provided fair compensation to avoid dissatisfaction.

The Chief Minister added that doors had been opened across Bihar to encourage industrial investment and that any hurdles faced by industries were being swiftly addressed. He also spoke about the ‘Sahayog’ camps and portal, where citizens can submit applications to resolve their grievances. If action is not taken within 30 days, strict measures are initiated against the concerned officials.
According to him, over 3.26 lakh applications have been received so far, with most issues resolved. In cases where complaints were raised about incorrect orders by officials, directions have been issued to ensure corrections within a stipulated time.
He further said that suggestions from youth associated with employment and start-ups were highly valuable and would be implemented after addressing legal constraints. “We aim to make Bihar a preferred destination for industry within the next five years,” he said.

The Chief Minister underlined that Bihar, once challenged by issues related to water and population, was now effectively utilising both. He encouraged the youth to create employment opportunities through start-ups, assuring full government support. He also emphasised strengthening the education system so that students could pursue higher studies within the state.
Welcoming Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, he said the Centre’s continued support was playing a crucial role in developing Bihar’s IT sector and start-up ecosystem. The government, he added, remained committed to making Bihar self-reliant.
Earlier, both leaders visited various start-up stalls before the session. The event was also addressed by senior officials, including ministers and STPI representatives, along with members of the IT industry and start-up community.
