Samrat Choudhary also announced that the textile sector would receive special encouragement as one of Bihar’s key growth areas. Since textile and apparel manufacturing is labour-intensive, he said, the sector had immense potential to create jobs on a large scale. Investors would be encouraged to establish new textile and garment manufacturing units in the state.
Emphasising future energy requirements, the Chief Minister said the government was also focusing on clean energy, particularly opportunities in the nuclear energy sector. He said Bihar would strengthen its energy infrastructure by attracting fresh investments and promoting modern technologies to meet the state’s growing industrial and economic needs.
Describing food processing as another priority sector, Samrat Choudhary said Bihar should leverage its strength in agriculture and food production to promote industrial growth. Expansion of food processing units, he noted, would provide farmers with better market access while boosting employment and economic activity in rural areas. He added that investment opportunities in the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors would also be pursued with priority.
Earlier, the Chief Minister reviewed preparations for Bihar Business Connect 2026, saying the event would showcase Bihar’s investment opportunities to leading industrial groups and investors from India and abroad. He said the slogan “Build and Believe in Bihar” would serve as the guiding mantra for the state’s industrial transformation.
Highlighting Bihar’s strengths, he said the state possessed a vast consumer market, a young workforce and enormous scope for industrial expansion. With investor confidence, supportive government policies and improved infrastructure, Bihar would emerge as one of India’s leading industrial states.
The Chief Minister also stressed the need to involve the Bihar diaspora in the state’s development through Bihar Business Connect, urging them to contribute not only to their place of work but also to their homeland.
Calling for coordinated action across all departments linked to industrial investment, the Chief Minister directed officials to work in mission mode and ensure that MoUs were converted into projects without delay. He said investors should be provided with all necessary support to facilitate the establishment of industries.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to accelerating industrialisation, he said Bihar would expand employment, manufacturing and economic activity by promoting investments in steel, textiles, clean and nuclear energy, food processing and pharmaceuticals, thereby fulfilling the vision of a prosperous and developed Bihar.
Deputy Chief Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav, Industries Minister Shreyasi Singh, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Deepak Kumar, Chief Secretary Pratyay Amrit, Development Commissioner Mihir Kumar Singh, and senior officials from various departments were present at the event.
