Patna: The trophies for the winners, runners-up, and individual achievements in the upcoming Siphai Bhagat Memorial Girls and Boys Inter-School Kho-Kho Tournament were unveiled on Saturday. The two-day event, organized by the Sipahi Bhagat Sports Foundation, will take place from August 24 at Open Mind A Birla School.
The unveiling ceremony was led by the school’s Principal, Paljinder Pal Singh, alongside Middle Wing Coordinator and National Kho-Kho Player, Poonam Pandey, Primary Wing Coordinator, Momita Sen, and Sports Head, Karandhir Sharma.
Principal Paljinder Pal Singh revealed that the tournament will feature 16 teams each in both the boys’ and girls’ categories, with 12 teams already confirming their participation. The boys’ category will include Under-17 players, while the girls’ category will feature Under-15 players.
The tournament will begin with a vibrant opening ceremony, highlighted by special cultural performances during both the inauguration and the prize distribution ceremonies.
Matches will be held on two courts, overseen by a panel of referees, and will follow a knockout format.
In addition to the grand trophies for the winning and runner-up teams, individual accolades will be awarded for Player of the Tournament, Rising Star of the Tournament, Attacker of the Tournament, Defender of the Tournament, and Fair Play Team.
