Patna: Of the 142 parks in Patna, 109 have been fully developed and are accessible to the public, while development work is ongoing in 33 parks. As part of this initiative, the foundation stone and renovation work for five parks have been laid this year. These parks include SK Nagar Park No. 3, Park No. 7, Sector 4 Bahadurpur Housing Colony Park No. 2, and Lohia Nagar Kankarbagh Parks No. 51 and 52.
According to the park administration, the development work on these five parks is expected to be completed by February next year. Once finished, they will be open for public use. The construction and renovation works include:
- Infrastructure: Soil filling, landscaping, boundary wall and entry gate construction, drainage work, and store room construction.
- Amenities: Open gyms, children’s play equipment, benches for visitors, toilets, drinking water facilities, and dustbins for waste disposal.
- Safety and Maintenance: High-mast LED lighting, CCTV cameras, sound systems, and electrification.
- Recreational Facilities: Walking tracks and the planting of flowering plants.
Notably, open gyms will be installed in Bahadurpur Park No. 2 and SK Nagar Park No. 3 to encourage fitness activities.
Eco Park to Get New Boats by December 25
Eco Park, one of the most popular leisure destinations in Patna, will see the addition of eight new boats by 25 December. The park, which already houses 22 boats, attracts the highest number of visitors, particularly on weekends.
The new boats—purchased at a cost of ₹5 lakh—include four 4-seater boats, three 2-seater boats, and one Shikara. The proposal for these boats was submitted in May, and the purchase was recently approved by the department.
With these developments, the city aims to enhance recreational facilities and provide better amenities for residents and visitors alike.
