Patna: In a significant raid, police seized seven trolley bags filled with foreign liquor from the guard room of an apartment in New Patliputra Colony, under the Patliputra police station jurisdiction. The apartment guard, identified as Rajesh Kumar from Digha’s Balu Par, was arrested, while one accomplice managed to escape. Alongside the liquor, authorities also recovered Rs 1.57 lakh, reportedly earned from illicit liquor sales.
The Station House Officer (SHO) stated that the police received a tip-off indicating that the guard and his associate had sourced a substantial quantity of liquor from another state. Acting on this information, a police team led by PSI Pooja Kumari was formed, and a raid was conducted.
Sources indicate that the liquor, of various foreign brands, was allegedly intended for sale during the festive season. It has been reported that the guard had arranged for the liquor supply from Uttar Pradesh and was engaged in selling it locally. In addition to the cash and liquor, police have confiscated the guard’s mobile phone, which contains several suspicious contacts, suggesting a larger network.
Currently, investigations are underway to unravel further details and identify any additional individuals involved in this illegal operation.
