Patna Clinches Second Consecutive Title at 14th Hockey Bihar Junior Girls State Championship 2024

Patna: The 14th Hockey Bihar Junior Girls State Championship 2024, organised by Hockey Saharsa, was held at the MLT College grounds in Saharsa. In the final match, Hockey Patna triumphed over Hockey Purnia with a 3-1 victory, securing the championship title for the second consecutive year. Akanksha Yadav opened the scoring for Patna with a penalty corner in the 14th minute, putting them ahead 1-0 by the end of the first quarter. In the 36th minute, Rish Kumari added a second goal through a field goal. By the 44th minute, Yadav netted her second goal, extending Patna’s lead to 3-0 by the end of the third quarter. Purnia’s Fancy Khatoon managed to score in the 56th minute, reducing the deficit to 3-1.

Akanksha Yadav’s stellar performance earned her the Player of the Match award.

Umpires Pallavi Kumari and Shivani Kumari officiated the game, while Johnny Kumar, Raju Kumar, Piyush Kumar, and Mohammad Mushtakim managed the technical table.

Manoj Kumar, DIG and chief guest, presented medals and trophies to the victorious Patna team, while Dr Pawan Kumar, Principal of MLT College, awarded the runners-up. Dr Kumar also gave the vote of thanks.

Among the dignitaries at the closing ceremony were Hockey Bihar Secretary Mohammad Mushtaq Ahmed, Treasurer Dr Iqbal Akhtar, Assistant Secretaries Manoj Kumar and Achal Kumar, Chief Coach Amar Bharti, and Hockey Saharsa Secretary Sunil Kumar Jha.
