Patna: In the run-up to the election year, the Nitish Kumar-led government in Bihar has intensified efforts to accelerate job creation and employment opportunities. As part of this initiative, appointments are being made across various departments. In this context, an appointment letter distribution ceremony will be held on 4 February, during which appointment letters will be presented to 6,341 candidates selected for the post of Junior Engineer. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will personally hand over these appointment letters to the selected candidates.
The Chief Minister will award appointment letters to candidates chosen for Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical) posts in multiple departments of the Bihar government. Principal Secretary Santosh Kumar Mall has addressed an official communication to the Additional Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary, and Secretary of departments such as Road Construction, Rural Works, Building Construction, Public Health Engineering, Minor Water Resources, Planning and Development, and Urban Development and Housing. He has urged them to expedite all processes related to these appointments.
Additionally, the process of counselling and certificate verification for 2,338 candidates selected by the Technical Service Commission for Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical) positions in the Water Resources Department was successfully conducted from 14 to 19 January 2025 at the Convention Bhawan in Patna. Officials involved have provided positive feedback on the smooth conduct of this process.
To accommodate the 228 candidates who were absent during the initial counselling, the department is planning to organise another session to provide them with a second chance.
This initiative highlights the government’s focus on employment generation as a key priority in an election year.
