Lequaullah and Krishna Kumar Shine as Begusarai Overpower Saharsa by 92 Runs

Begusarai, June 3: With remarkable half-centuries from Lequaullah and Krishna Kumar, Begusarai secured a convincing 92-run victory over Saharsa in the Central Zone of the Shyamal Sinha Inter District Under-16 Cricket Tournament.

Begusarai Innings:

Winning the toss and choosing to bat first at the Barauni Fertilizer ground, Begusarai amassed a hefty 306 for 8 in their 40 overs. Lequaullah shone with a stellar 97 off 68 balls, hitting 12 fours and 3 sixes. Krishna Kumar supported him with a solid 54 off 50 balls, including 7 fours. Contributions also came from Avnish Poddar (37 runs), Priyanshu Raj (35 runs), and Abhinav (23 runs off 43 balls with 4 fours). Extras significantly boosted the total, adding 45 runs.

For Saharsa, Satyam was the standout bowler, taking 3 wickets. Sumit Rai grabbed 2 wickets, while Ayush and Mohit picked up one wicket each.

Saharsa Innings:

Chasing the target, Saharsa scored 214 for 9 in their 40 overs. Mrinal Singh top-scored with a composed 55 off 63 balls, including 7 fours and 1 six. Nikhil Kumar also contributed 50 runs off 49 balls, hitting 6 fours and 2 sixes. Rohit Kumar (24 runs) and Sumit Rai (12 runs) added some resistance. Extras were again substantial, contributing 46 runs to Saharsa’s total.

Begusarai’s bowlers delivered an effective performance. Harsh Verma led the attack with 4 wickets. Raj Mani took 3 wickets, and Ayush Praveen Kumar claimed 1 wicket.
