Patna: The 15th Dhyanchand Memorial Ball Badminton Tournament, taking place at Kilkari Bihar Bal Bhavan in Patna, saw the teams of Kilkari and PN Anglo School from Pool A, along with Ravindra Balika Vidyalaya and Gardanibagh Balika Vidyalaya from Pool B, advance to the semi-finals in the girls’ category. The tournament is being organised by Kilkari Bihar Bal Bhavan with technical support from the Bihar Ball Badminton Association.
On the second day of the tournament, Kilkari secured a decisive win against Adarsh Kanya Madhya Vidyalaya, Yarpur, with scores of 35-21 and 35-18. PN Anglo School also dominated their match against MHS School, winning 35-08 and 35-10. In a closely contested match, Ravindra Balika Vidyalaya triumphed over Gardanibagh Balika Vidyalaya with scores of 26-35, 35-20, and 35-30. Gardanibagh Balika Vidyalaya later secured a victory against Bapu Smarak Balika Vidyalaya, winning 35-26 and 35-24.
Outstanding performances were showcased by Muskan, Divya, and Khushi from Kilkari; Rajnandini, Kajal, and Kanchan from PN Anglo School; Mansi, Naina, and Ananya from Ravindra Balika Vidyalaya; and Saloni, Ananya, and Sushma from Gardanibagh Balika Vidyalaya.
The second day of this five-day tournament, organised as part of the Sports Day programme, was inaugurated by Bihar Ball Badminton Association Secretary Gouri Shankar, alongside Joint Secretary Mitali Mitra, Rakesh Ranjan, and District Secretary Dr Arun Dayal. Senior national player Deepak Prakash Ranjan, Kilkari’s coach Rahul Kumar, and Adarsh Kumar were also in attendance for the event.
