Devansh Keshari and Mohini Pandit Lead on Day Two of Bihar State Under-11 Chess Championship

Patna: On the second day of the Bihar State Under-11 Chess Championship, organised by Megaminds Club under the aegis of the All Bihar State Chess Association, Devansh Keshari led the boys’ category with 5 points, while Mohini Pandit topped the girls’ category with 4 points.

In the fifth round of this three-day state chess competition, held at Hotel Diamond Inn on Gol Road in Patna, Devansh Keshari of Patna, playing with the white pieces, defeated Yash Raman of Muzaffarpur on the top board to take the sole lead in the boys’ category. Meanwhile, the match between Om Kashyap and Yuvan Raman on board two ended in a draw. On board three, Aakarsh Anand secured a victory against Javin Jaiswal, while Advik Kumar defeated Ayush Raj on board four, both joining the leaders at the top.

In the girls’ category, second-seeded Mohini Pandit claimed the sole lead after defeating Vriti Vaibhav on the top board. Top-seeded Ankita Raj, playing on board two, defeated Aradhya Prakash, while Dhanvi Karmakar won against Anya, both moving to joint second place with three and a half points each.

According to Chief Arbiter Nandkishore, the final day of the championship will feature two rounds in the boys’ category and one round in the girls’ category.
