Purnia, June 8: Katihar emerged victorious against Madhepura in a thrilling match held on Saturday as part of the Seemanchal Zone of the Shyamal Sinha Inter District Under-16 Cricket Tournament. The tournament, hosted by the Purnia District Cricket Association, took place at the local Green Valley Stadium in Gulabbag.
After winning the toss, Madhepura opted to bat first, posting a total of 126 runs in 40 overs, losing 9 wickets along the way. Omkar Kumar led the batting with an unbeaten 50 runs off 58 balls, supported by Anuj Kumar with 25 runs off 56 balls and Ankit Kumar with 18 runs off 38 balls. Katihar’s Anand Yadav shone with the ball, claiming 5 wickets, while Krishna, Adarsh, Mohd. Dilwar, and Jitesh each took 1 wicket.
