Jehanabad drub Sheikhpura by 7 wickets

Bihar Sharif, June 8: In the Magadh Zone match of the Shyamal Sinha Inter District Under-16 Cricket Tournament, hosted by the Cricket Association of Nalanda, Jehanabad secured a commanding victory over Sheikhpura by 7 wickets in its final league encounter. Gaya led the points table in the Magadh Zone, with Jehanabad closely trailing in second place.

The match, held at the Nalanda Cricket Ground, saw Sheikhpura winning the toss and opting to bat first. They posted a total of 164 runs, losing all wickets in 32.4 overs. Shivam Kumar top-scored with 37 runs, supported by Sachin Ranjit Kumar (17), Abhijeet Sri Nivas (20), and Rishabh Raj (38). Jehanabad’s bowlers, led by Aditya Nath Singh (2/43), Prince Thakur (2/21), and Raj Kamal (6/26), restricted Sheikhpura’s innings.

In response, Jehanabad chased down the target with ease, reaching 165 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 30.2 overs. Ankul played a pivotal role with an unbeaten half-century, well-supported by Abhinav Akela (54). Sheikhpura’s bowlers, Saurabh Kumar (1/25) and Satyansh Sharma (2/17), managed to take a few wickets but couldn’t prevent Jehanabad’s victory.
