Jan Suraaj Abhiyan Gains Momentum as Women Leaders Prepare for State-Level Meeting

Patna: Jan Suraaj Abhiyan is becoming increasingly active in the state’s political landscape, with people from all sections of society joining this movement led by Prashant Kishore. As Jan Suraaj prepares to transition into a political party on October 2, meetings involving various sections of the organisation are being held continuously in Patna. A state-level meeting of women associated with Jan Suraaj is scheduled to take place on August 25 at Bapu Auditorium in Patna.

Jan Suraaj’s women spokespersons, Sadaf Iqbal and Preeti Nandani, provided details about this meeting during a press conference on 22nd August. Both leaders stated that thousands of women affiliated with Jan Suraaj are expected to arrive in Patna from across Bihar at 10 am on August 25 2024. In the presence of Prashant Kishore, the mastermind behind Jan Suraaj Abhiyan, discussions will focus on women’s participation in politics and social issues affecting them.

On August 25, a wide-ranging discussion on the representation of women within Jan Suraaj will take place at Bapu Sabhagar, Patna. “We appeal to women from all over Bihar to come to Bapu Sabhagar,” said Sadaf Iqbal, women spokesperson of Jan Suraaj.

During the press conference, former IPS officer RK Mishra, associated with Jan Suraaj, highlighted that Sita Devi was elected to the post of Darbhanga Zila Parishad president on March 15 with the support of Jan Suraaj. On August 21, Aruna Jha was elected unopposed to the post of Darbhanga Zila Parishad Vice President, also with the backing of Jan Suraaj. Both Sita Devi and Aruna Jha expressed their gratitude to Prashant Kishore during the press conference, stating that they are striving to offer a better political alternative in society.
