Jamui, June 10: Jamui continued their winning campaign in the BCA Shyamal Sinha Inter-District Under-16 Cricket Tournament, emerging as champions of the Angika Zone. In the final league match of the zone, Jamui defeated Lakhisarai by 84 runs.

Jamui topped the zone with 12 points, followed by Banka with 9 points, and Munger with 6 points. Bhagalpur secured 3 points, finishing fourth, while Lakhisarai remained winless and placed fifth.

In the match held at Sri Krishna Stadium, Jamui won the toss and opted to bat first. They posted a total of 272 runs in 37.3 overs, thanks to Deepanshu’s impressive 81 runs. Other significant contributions came from Nishu (36), Sumit (34), and Ashish Gupta (38* not out).

For Lakhisarai, Bhaskar Anand was the standout bowler, taking 4 wickets, while Karan Yadav claimed 3 wickets.

In response, Lakhisarai were all out for 188 runs in 33.1 overs. Nilesh Kumar scored 50, Rishabh Singh Rana added 33, and Rahul Kumar contributed 37 runs.

Sumit and Sachin Kumar each took 3 wickets for Jamui, ensuring their team’s comprehensive victory.
