Patna: The Bihar cabinet is set to be expanded on Thursday, with a high-profile swearing-in ceremony expected to draw several senior leaders of the ruling alliance. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP national president Nitin Nabin, and Union Home Minister Amit Shah are among those slated to attend.
State BJP president Sanjay Saraogi said the ceremony would also be attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Health Minister JP Nadda, along with several Union ministers and prominent leaders of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Key NDA figures, including former Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and former Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, are also expected to be present. All NDA MPs from Bihar and Union ministers representing the state will take part in the event.

Saraogi said that there is considerable enthusiasm among party leaders, workers and the general public over the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Nitin Nabin, reflecting growing public confidence in the party’s leadership.
Large crowds are expected to line the streets to welcome the Prime Minister and the BJP chief, with extensive preparations under way for what is being billed as a grand ceremony.

The historic Gandhi Maidan is being specially decorated for the occasion. A massive stage equipped with modern facilities is being constructed, and security personnel will be deployed at key locations to ensure the smooth conduct of the event and to prevent inconvenience to the public.
Across Patna, posters have been put up by party workers and residents to mark the occasion. Senior NDA leaders have already begun arriving in the city. BJP national general secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Vinod Tawde, who is also in charge of Bihar, reached Patna on Wednesday and was welcomed at Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport by Saraogi.
The city has been decked out with flags and banners from the airport to Gandhi Maidan, with ceremonial welcome gates erected at various points. Final arrangements are being coordinated between party representatives and the district administration.
