Patna: Ganesh Chaturthi is being celebrated across India on Monday, September 14, 2026. The festival marks the birth of Lord Ganesha and begins on the Bhadrapada Shukla Chaturthi tithi, which starts at 7:06 AM on September 14 and ends at 7:44 AM on September 15.
The 10-day Ganeshotsav will conclude with Anant Chaturdashi and Ganesh Visarjan on September 25, when devotees bid farewell to Lord Ganesha by immersing the idol in water. Devotees will perform Ganpati Sthapana on Monday.

Ramayana Part 1 Promotions Begin on Ganesh Chaturthi
The makers of Ramayana: Part 1 unveiled the first motion poster of the film on Ganesh Chaturthi. The poster shows Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Sai Pallavi as Sita sitting together on a river bank in the forest, with Ram placing a pink flower in Sita’s hair.
The Siya Ram poster was unveiled at 7:30 AM IST on September 14, followed by the release of the first song from the film, titled Jai Jai Ram. The song has been composed by AR Rahman, with lyrics by Dr Kumar Vishwas. It features vocals by Shreya Ghoshal and Arijit Singh.
The makers announced the update on Instagram with a note. ‘Every auspicious beginning begins with an invocation. This Ganesh Chaturthi, Ramayana’s musical journey begins with the unveiling of our Siya Ram poster at 7.30 AM IST. Followed soon after by our first musical offering, Jai Jai Ram. Composed by: AR Rahman, Lyrics by: Dr. Kumar Vishwas, Singers: Shreya Ghoshal and Arijit Singh,’ read the note.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana is a two-part adaptation. Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi portrays Sita, Yash plays Ravana, Ravie Dubey essays Lakshman, and Sunny Deol is set to play Hanuman. The film features music by AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer.
Ramayana: Part 1 is scheduled to release worldwide on November 6, 2026, with a India release on November 8, 2026. Part Two is scheduled for a Diwali 2027 release.
