Patna: The fifth season of the Casa Picolla School Cricket League (Under-15), organised by Turning Point, was launched with an elaborate trophy unveiling ceremony in Patna. The event, held at a city hotel, marked the beginning of a tournament aimed at fostering young cricketing talent in Bihar.
Dignitaries Grace the Occasion
The ceremony was attended by Bihar Players Association President Mrityunjay Tiwari, Rize Coaching for IIT Director Dhananjay Singh, Patna Municipal Corporation Empowered Committee Member Indradeep Chandravanshi, Casa Picolla CMD Rajesh Sharma, Medimission Hospital Director Rajiv G, Turning Point Director and Organising President Vijay Sharma, former cricketer Saurabh Chakraborty, League Convenor Sumit Sharma, and Sardar Patel Sports Foundation General Secretary Naveen Kumar.
Focus on Grassroots Development
Vijay Sharma, Managing Director of Turning Point and Organising President, stated that Turning Point has been actively working for four years to nurture sporting talent in Bihar alongside its educational initiatives. “Our focus is on promoting cricket at the school level while also encouraging talent in other sports. The league serves as a platform for young players to showcase their abilities,” he said.
The league is set to begin on 15 December, starting with selection trials at multiple venues. A total of 12 teams will be formed, supported by leading colleges and universities across India. Co-sponsors of the league include Open Minds – A Birla School, Danapur, Medimission Hospital, Agastya Classes, and Rize Coaching for IIT.
League Structure and Highlights
The tournament will follow a league-cum-knockout format with T20 matches. Each team will receive coloured kits provided by franchise owners. Daily “Man of the Match” awards will be distributed, along with trophies for the champions and runners-up. Additional accolades include Best Bowler, Best Batsman, Man of the League, Best Wicketkeeper, Best Fielder, and Emerging Player awards.
Casa Picolla CMD Rajesh Sharma pledged his company’s continued support for the league, emphasising its commitment to nurturing sports talent as part of its social responsibilities.
Eligibility and Selection Trials
Only school students from Patna district are eligible for the trials. Participants must bring their Aadhaar card, birth certificate, school ID, and photographs. Priority will be given to players from the previous season who remain eligible.

The organising committee is chaired by Vijay Sharma, with Naveen Kumar of the Sardar Patel Sports Foundation serving as Organising Secretary and Saurabh Chakraborty as Technical Director. Sumit Sharma will oversee the trials and coordination.
