Patna: The Panchayati Raj Cell of the Bihar unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organised a function on Sunday to mark the birth anniversary of the legendary philanthropist and warrior, Bhamashah. The event was held at the auditorium of the Bihar Industries Association (BIA) in Patna and was inaugurated by BJP state president Sanjay Saraogi with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp.
On the occasion, the state president and other attendees paid floral tributes to Bhamashah’s portrait and remembered his life and ideals.
Addressing the gathering, Saraogi said that Bhamashah had dedicated his entire wealth to the defence of the nation. “His contribution was immensely significant at the time and continues to stand as the highest example of patriotism,” he remarked.
He further stated that Bhamashah’s sacrifice, dedication and unparalleled contribution to the nation serve as a source of inspiration for all. “The true tribute to him lies in resolving to serve society and the nation by following his ideals,” he added.
Emphasising the relevance of Bhamashah’s ideals in the present times, Saraogi said that society today needs his values more than ever. He urged citizens to fulfil their social and national responsibilities with honesty, commitment and a spirit of service.
Praising the Panchayati Raj Cell for organising the event, he noted that such programmes help educate the younger generation about the country’s great personality.
Participants at the event also took a pledge to follow Bhamashah’s ideals.

Among those present were former Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha, Rajya Sabha MP and state general secretary Shivesh Kumar, former Deputy Chief Minister Tarkishore Prasad, former state minister Pramod Kumar Chandravanshi, former minister Ram Kripal Yadav, MLAs Sanjeev Chaurasia and Ratnesh Kushwaha, state general secretary Radha Mohan Sharma, BJP state media co-incharge Amit Prakash Bablu, LJP (R) national trade cell president Ashok Verma, Deputy Mayor Rashmi Chandravanshi, along with several party office-bearers and workers.
The programme was conducted by Mukesh Nandan, state convener of the BJP Panchayati Raj Cell. Programme coordinators Prince Raj Raju, Dr Manish Singh, Mantu Gupta, Hare Krishna and Akhilesh were also present.
Earlier in the day, Saraogi paid floral tribute to Bhamashah’s life-size statue at Bhamashah Park (Punaichak Park) in Patna.
On that occasion, former Governor Ganga Prasad, Digha MLA Sanjeev Chaurasia, former minister Narayan Prasad, MLA Lal Babu Prasad and several other dignitaries and party workers were present and paid their respects.
