Patna: The birth anniversary of the legendary philanthropist and warrior Bhamashah was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the Janata Dal (United) state office in Patna by the party’s Business and Industry Cell. The event was attended by the party’s national president Nitish Kumar, Nishant Kumar, both Deputy Chief Ministers Vijay Kumar Chaudhary and Bijendra Prasad Yadav, and JD(U) Legislature Party leader Shravan Kumar, among other senior leaders.
The programme was chaired by Legislative Councillor and Treasurer Lalan Kumar Sarraf, while Chandan Kumar Singh conducted the proceedings.
Several prominent leaders and office-bearers, including Chief Whip Sanjay Kumar Singh alias Gandhi Ji, National Vice-President and former MP Chandeshwar Prasad Chandravanshi, National General Secretary Ashok Chaudhary, National Spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan Prasad, and others, were present. A large number of party officials and workers from across the state also attended the event.
On the occasion, all guests and workers paid floral tributes to a portrait of Bhamashah, pledging to uphold his ideals of sacrifice, dedication and patriotism.
Addressing the gathering, Nishant Kumar said that Bhamashah’s name is remembered with great respect whenever generosity and patriotism are discussed. He recalled that during Maharana Pratap’s struggle against Akbar, Bhamashah not only donated his entire wealth but also sent his sons to fight for the motherland, where they attained martyrdom. He added that Bhamashah’s life teaches that wealth finds true meaning only when used for the welfare of society and the nation.

Shravan Kumar said that Bhamashah’s life should inspire efforts towards building a developed nation. He stressed that imbibing his ideals and working selflessly for social welfare is a collective responsibility, adding that his contribution to the struggle against the Mughals remains unparalleled.
Lalan Kumar Sarraf stated that by following Bhamashah’s ideals, Nitish Kumar has taken several historic steps in the interest of Bihar’s people, particularly restoring respect and security for the business community. He said that due to the government’s policy of good governance, traders now feel secure and respected, enabling them to carry out their businesses without fear. He urged workers to take a pledge on the occasion to spread awareness of development initiatives among the masses and strengthen Bihar’s future under Nishant Kumar’s leadership.

Sanjay Kumar Singh alias Gandhi Ji said that the state-wide observance of Bhamashah Jayanti as an official function was an initiative of Nitish Kumar. He noted that there was a time when the business community was forced to migrate due to insecurity, but under the present leadership, law and order had improved, creating an atmosphere of peace and trust.
Leshi Singh said that when Maharana Pratap was facing adversity, Bhamashah set an unparalleled example of duty towards the nation by donating his entire wealth. She described him as a symbol of social harmony and urged people to follow his ideals to fulfil their responsibilities towards society and the nation.
Ratnesh Sada said that Bhamashah’s contribution to national service is etched in golden letters in history. His life, he said, continues to inspire sacrifice, dedication and patriotism, serving as a guiding force for all.
