Patna, July 3: In a bid to boost Kho-Kho’s development in Bihar, Neeraj Kumar Pappu, Secretary of the Kho-Kho Association of Bihar, held a crucial meeting with Raveendran Sankaran, Director General cum Chief Executive Officer of the Bihar State Sports Authority.
During their discussion, Neeraj Kumar Pappu briefed Raveendran Sankaran about ongoing initiatives by the Kho-Kho Association of Bihar, such as the Women’s Kho-Kho League and Men’s Kho-Kho League, and highlighted the daily training sessions conducted for hundreds of players across various districts.
Neeraj Kumar Pappu also shared the success story of the recent Khelo India Junior and Sub-Junior Women’s Kho-Kho League held in Lakhisarai. The event saw enthusiastic participation from teams across eastern and northeastern regions, with Bihar securing second place in the sub-junior category and third in the junior category. The presence of Arjun Awardee Nasreen Sheikh as the chief guest added to the event’s prestige and encouraged young players.
Impressed by the initiatives, Raveendran Sankaran assured full support from the Bihar State Sports Authority for the further advancement of Kho-Kho. He expressed keen interest in understanding the association’s requirements and discussed plans to assist with upcoming leagues and training camps aimed at enhancing team performance in national tournaments.
Emphasizing the authority’s dedication to sports development across all disciplines, Sankaran affirmed a collaborative approach with the Kho-Kho Association of Bihar. The meeting concluded with a gesture of appreciation as Sankaran presented Neeraj Kumar Pappu with the Authority’s T-shirt, acknowledging his significant contributions to the sport.
