Patna: The mortal remains of senior Bihar Congress leader and Bhagalpur District Congress Committee president Praveen Singh Kushwaha were brought to the state Congress headquarters, Sadaqat Ashram, on Saturday, where leaders and workers paid their last respects.
Among those present was Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee president Rajesh Ram, who, along with senior party leaders and workers, offered floral tributes and bid a tearful farewell.
Expressing deep sorrow, Ram said the late Kushwaha was a dedicated, resilient and hardworking Congress leader who devoted his life to strengthening the party organisation and raising the voice of weaker sections of society. “His demise is an irreparable loss to the Congress family,” he said.
Ram also read out a condolence message sent by Rahul Gandhi to party leaders and workers gathered at the venue.
He prayed for the peace of the departed soul and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
The last rites of Kushwaha will be performed at 10 am on Sunday at his ancestral village in Bhagalpur district.
A large number of senior leaders, office-bearers and party workers were present at Sadaqat Ashram to pay homage to the departed leader. Among those who paid tribute were Legislative Council Congress leader Dr Madan Mohan Jha, former minister Kripanath Pathak, Narendra Kumar, MLA Surendra Kushwaha, RJD leader Mrityunjay Tiwari, media department chairman Rajesh Rathore, along with several other prominent leaders and workers.
