Begusarai and Katihar were Crowned Champions in Bihar Senior Fast-5 Netball Championship

Patna: Begusarai and Katihar emerged as champions in the first Bihar State Senior Fast-5 Netball Championship (men’s and women’s), organised by the Bihar Netball Association at the Patliputra Sports Complex on Tuesday night.
Begusarai clinched the men’s title, while Katihar secured the women’s crown. In the men’s category, Nawada finished third, whereas in the women’s section, Begusarai claimed the third position.
In the men’s final, Begusarai edged past Katihar with a narrow 10–9 victory. In the third-place match, Nawada defeated Arwal 22–15.
Earlier, in the semi-finals, Begusarai beat Nawada 24–17, while Katihar registered a convincing 29–10 win over Arwal.
In the women’s final, Katihar defeated Patna 18–12 to lift the title. In the match for third place, Begusarai overcame Nalanda 9–8 in a closely contested encounter.
In the women’s semi-finals, Patna defeated Nalanda 14–8, while Katihar secured a 12–9 win against Begusarai.
The winners were awarded by Deputy Director of the Bihar State Sports Authority Himanshu Singh, senior sports executive Anandi Kumar, Patna District Sports Officer Om Prakash, Basketball Association of Bihar Chairman Sushil Kumar, and international and Pro Kabaddi player Vikas Kandola.
The event was presided over by Bihar Netball Association President Ravikant, while General Secretary Manali Kumari delivered the vote of thanks. Officials from both the state and district associations were also present on the occasion.
