Baroda Defeat Bihar by 89 Runs in Women’s U-19 Tournament

Patna: Baroda secured a comprehensive 89-run victory over Bihar at SSN Ground, Chennai, in the Women’s U-19 T20 Tournament on Sunday. Baroda won the toss and opted to bat first, posting 126 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. In response, Bihar were bowled out for just 37 runs in 14.1 overs.

Baroda’s innings was led by Mesvi Poker, who retired hurt after scoring 40 runs. Additional contributions came from Vidhi with 27 runs, Prapti with 15, Vani with 13, Atoshi with 10, and Trisha with 9. For Bihar, Ananya Tiwari took 2 wickets, Julie claimed 1, and a run-out accounted for another dismissal.

In reply, Bihar struggled with the bat, with Ananya Tiwari top-scoring with 10 runs. No other player from the Bihar side reached double figures.

Baroda’s bowlers dominated, with Vidhi, Sneha, and Riddhi taking 2 wickets each, while Tanvi took 1 wicket. Three Bihar batters were run out during the innings. Bihar’s next match is against Gujarat on 8th October.
