Patna: The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) a.k.a Bihar Board has announced the results of the 2026 Matriculation (Class 10) examination. The results were declared by State Education Minister Sunil Kumar in the presence of Additional Chief Secretary of the Education Department Dr B. Rajender and BSEB Chairman Anand Kishor.
A total of 15.12 lakh candidates had registered for the examination this year. Of them, 81.79 per cent successfully passed, with as many as 12,35,743 students clearing the examination. The pass percentage of girls surpassed that of boys, continuing a consistent trend in recent years.
This year, two girls jointly secured the top position in the state. Pushpanjali Kumari from Simultala and Sabrin Parveen from Vaishali emerged as joint toppers, each scoring 98.4 per cent, equivalent to 492 marks. A total of 13 candidates feature in the top five ranks, while 126 candidates secured positions between ranks six and ten.
Students who appeared for the examination can check their results on the official websites — result.biharboardonline.org and matricbiharboard.com — from 1:15 pm onwards. Candidates are required to enter their roll code and roll number to access and download their results.
The Bihar Board conducted the Matric Annual Examination 2026 from 17 to 25 February across 1,699 centres in the state. Around 15.12 lakh candidates appeared, including 7.85 lakh girls and 7.26 lakh boys. The examination was conducted peacefully under strict supervision and tight security arrangements.
Notably, the Bihar Board had held the record for releasing Matric results first in the country for the past seven years. However, this year the record was broken, with the Board of Secondary Education Rajasthan announcing its results earlier. Despite this, BSEB set a new benchmark by releasing the Intermediate (Class 12) results first in the country for the eighth consecutive year, declared on 23 March 2026.
