Patna: On the opening day of the Cooch Behar Trophy match between Kerala and Bihar at the KCA Cricket Ground in Mangalapuram, Trivandrum, Bihar put up a total of 329 runs in their first innings, bolstered by a century from Prithviraj. In response, Kerala reached 22 without loss by stumps.

Bihar recovered with notable contributions from Dipesh Gupta, who scored 61, and Prithviraj, who played an exceptional knock of 163. As Kerala began their innings, they reached 22 without losing a wicket at the close of play, with Ahmed Khan unbeaten on 15 and Akshay on 7.
