Patna: Patna lifted the BCA Men’s T20 Trophy 2025–26 after defeating Begusarai by 23 runs in the final at the Moinul Haq Stadium on Tuesday.
Batting first, Patna posted a formidable 190 for 8 in their 20 overs. In reply, Begusarai fell short, managing 167 for 7.
Piyush Kumar Singh starred for Patna with a commanding 92 off 52 balls, striking eight fours and six sixes. Ashish Kumar contributed 38 from 27 deliveries, while Suraj Kashyap added a quick 18 off just nine balls to push the total higher. Shasheem Rathore chipped in with 14 runs.
For Begusarai, Ayush Kumar impressed with the ball, taking 2 for 27 in his four overs. Sumit Kumar and Sudhanshu Kumar also claimed two wickets each, while Saurav Ram Kumar picked up one.
Chasing 191, Begusarai made an unsteady start, losing captain Danish Alam for 11. Wicketkeeper-batsman Murari Kumar then played a fighting knock of 63 from 49 balls, including seven fours and two sixes. Prithvi Raj scored 26, while Sudhanshu Kumar’s brisk 24 off nine balls briefly kept hopes alive. Shivam Raj remained unbeaten on 18.
Patna’s bowlers delivered a disciplined performance, with Pawan Kumar leading the attack with figures of 3 for 37. Shashim Rathore took two wickets, while Suraj Kashyap and Rahul Rathore claimed one each.

With this victory, Patna secured the BCA Men’s T20 Trophy title for the 2025–26 season.
Bihar Cricket Association president Harsh Vardhan congratulated both teams, praising the players for their consistent and competitive performances throughout the tournament. He said that the discipline and quality on display were encouraging signs for cricket in Bihar.
BCA secretary Ziaul Arfeen also lauded Patna for their triumph and commended Begusarai’s effort, adding that such competitions are helping to shape the future of cricket in the state.
Several officials of the Bihar Cricket Association were present at the match, along with representatives from the Patna and Begusarai District Cricket Associations, who attended to support and encourage the players.
