Patna: Influenced by the landmark initiatives of fromer Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in the field of women’s empowerment, and inspired by the visionary outlook of Nishant Kumar, several women leaders formally joined the JD(U) on Monday at the party’s state office in Patna.
Leading the group was Smita Chaurasia, President of the Mukhiya Sangh from Ramnagar block in West Champaran, who, along with her associates, left the Jan Suraaj platform to embrace JD(U).
On the occasion, State President Umesh Singh Kushwaha inducted the new members into the party by administering primary membership and extended a warm welcome, wishing them a bright future.
Kushwaha noted that Chaurasia has been actively engaged in social and political spheres for several years and commands a strong grassroots support base in West Champaran district. He expressed confidence that her induction would further strengthen and energise the party’s organisational structure in the region.
He further stated that the significant contributions made by Nitish Kumar towards the comprehensive development of Bihar have positively impacted all sections of society. In particular, he highlighted that the “Nitish Model” of women’s empowerment has emerged as a benchmark for the entire country.
Kushwaha also remarked that the forward-looking vision of Nishant Kumar is drawing increasing public attention, contributing to the growing support base of JD(U).
Among those who joined the party were Sangeeta Devi, Feton Devi, Amna Khatoon and Priyanka Devi. Party spokesperson Hemraj Ram and State General Secretary Shambhu Kushwaha were also present at the event.
