Patna: The VTech Champions Trophy Under-15 Cricket Tournament commenced on Monday, 27th January, under the auspices of the Sardar Patel Sports Foundation. On the opening day, the Warriors and Super Kings emerged victorious in closely contested matches.
In the first match, played at the Krishna Stadium, Khemnichak Ground, the Warriors defeated the Lions by 7 runs. Winning the toss, the Warriors opted to bat first and posted a total of 120 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. In response, the Lions were bowled out for 113 runs in 17 overs. Amit of the Warriors delivered a stellar bowling performance, earning the Player of the Match award.
The second match saw the Super Kings edge out the Knight Riders by 9 runs. After the Knight Riders won the toss and elected to field, the Super Kings scored 134 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 15.2 overs. Despite a spirited chase, the Knight Riders fell short, being dismissed for 125 runs in 20 overs. Himanshu of the Super Kings was named Player of the Match for his exceptional bowling display.
