Patna: A devastating road accident occurred in Bihta near Patna when an auto carrying school children collided head-on with a truck. The collision resulted in the tragic death of four children on the spot, while six others sustained serious injuries.
The incident took place near Bishanpura Garden as the auto, travelling from Bihta to Kanhauli, collided with a truck heading in the opposite direction. The impact of the collision was so severe that the auto was shattered, leaving the passengers critically injured. The injured, including the auto driver, were rushed to a nearby hospital, where their condition remains critical.
Public Outrage and Chaos
Following the accident, distraught locals blocked the road and set the truck on fire in protest. The families of the deceased were inconsolable, and the situation escalated as the angry crowd demanded action.
Local police, led by Bihta Police Station Incharge Rajkumar Pandey, reached the scene to control the situation. However, the protests intensified, prompting additional police reinforcements from nearby stations. Danapur DSP 2 also arrived at the spot and is working to pacify the crowd.
Official Statement
“So far, four children have died in a road accident near Bishanpura village, while many others, including the auto driver, are injured. People are creating a ruckus following the tragedy. Efforts are underway to bring the situation under control,” said Rajkumar Pandey, Police Station Incharge, Bihta.
The tragic incident underscores the need for stricter road safety measures to prevent such catastrophic accidents.
