Thousands Bid Farewell to Acharya Kishore Kunal: A Legacy of Social Service and Religious Dedication

Patna: The last rites of Acharya Kishore Kunal, secretary of the Mahavir Nyas Samiti and a former IPS officer, were conducted on Monday at Kaunhara Ghat in Hajipur with full Vedic rituals. His son, Shyan Kunal, lit the funeral pyre. Thousands of people joined the funeral procession to pay their respects, many becoming emotional as they remembered his remarkable personality and immense contributions to social service.

The funeral procession began at 9 a.m. from his residence, ‘Sayan Nilayam’, in Kurji, Patna. It passed through key landmarks, including Gaushala Road, Sadakat Ashram, Rajiv Nagar, Atal Path, and the Mahavir Temple at Patna Junction. The procession then crossed Gandhi Maidan, Marine Drive, Gaighat, and Gandhi Setu, before reaching Kaunhara Ghat in Hajipur.

At the Mahavir Temple in Patna, tributes were paid to his mortal remains by a large gathering of dignitaries and the public. Doctors and staff from hospitals associated with Mahavir Mandir Nyas, teachers from Patna University, students, and close associates participated in the procession. Notable personalities, including Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav and Mokama’s former MLA Anant Singh, visited his residence late at night to offer their condolences.

The demise of Acharya Kishore Kunal has left a profound void in the spheres of religion, society, and education. His work in social service, temple construction, and the preservation of religious texts will be cherished for generations. Passing away at the age of 74, his ideals and contributions continue to inspire countless individuals.

Mourning his loss, people have pledged to adopt his principles, ensuring his legacy endures. His life and work remain a beacon of inspiration for society, bridging the realms of faith, education, and social upliftment.
