Patna: Under the Chief Minister’s Women Employment Scheme in Bihar, beneficiaries who earlier received ₹10,000 will now be provided with ₹20,000 as the second instalment. The date for submitting employment-related details to facilitate the release of the second tranche was fixed for April 25, marking the final stage of documentation for disbursal.
Following this, ₹20,000 will be transferred directly into the bank accounts of identified women beneficiaries. Around 5,000 women are expected to initiate self-employment ventures with their own investment. According to officials from Jeevika, a survey covering more than 4o lakh women has been conducted for the release of the second instalment. The funds are likely to be credited to beneficiaries’ accounts in May.
Officials stated that, prior to the second instalment, procedures such as submission of utilisation certificates for the initial ₹10,000, maintenance of cash books, adherence to business plans, and recommendations by the loan committee had been completed. Documents from beneficiaries were collected by April 20, and from April 22 onwards, applications were forwarded to the loan committee for approval.
Under the scheme, a total of ₹2.1 lakh is to be disbursed in five instalments. While the first instalment has already been released, the second will provide ₹20,000, followed by ₹40,000 in the third, ₹80,000 in the fourth, and ₹60,000 in the fifth instalment for branding, packaging, and marketing support.
The scheme aims to promote self-reliance among women in Bihar, with officials confirming that surveys of over 4 million beneficiaries have already been completed for the next phase of financial assistance.
