Patna: With the help of four outstanding goals from Rinki Kumari Chauhan, Bihar triumphed over Karnataka with a 5-1 victory, securing a place in the semi-finals of the National Sub Junior Girls Football Championship 2024-25. In the semi-finals, Bihar will face the winner of the Jharkhand vs Punjab match. Rinki Kumari Chauhan was named Best Player of the Match.
Competing in Group B in Malda, Bihar has won all its league matches, amassing a total of 9 points. So far, the team has scored 20 goals in the tournament, with Rinki Kumari Chauhan netting 12 of them. Anshu Kumari has contributed with 6 goals.
The first half saw fierce competition between the two teams. In the 10th minute, Rinki Kumari Chauhan scored to give Bihar a 1-0 lead. However, in the 35th minute, Prathikasha V equalised for Karnataka. In injury time (45+4 minutes) of the first half, Anshu Kumari’s goal put Bihar back in front, leading 2-1 at the break.
The second half belonged to Rinki Kumari Chauhan, who delivered a sensational performance, scoring three more goals. She found the net in the 50th, 53rd, and 90+1 minutes, securing a dominant 5-1 win for Bihar and booking their place in the semi-finals. Both teams made four substitutions during the match.
Following Bihar’s advancement to the semi-finals, Bihar Football President Mr. Prasanjit Mehta, Secretary Mr. Syed Imtiaz Hussain, along with officials from the Football Association, football enthusiasts, and coaches, extended their congratulations to the Bihar girls’ team.
