Patna, May 11: In a thrilling encounter at Urja Stadium, PESU emerged victorious over ERCC in their final league match of the Patna District Senior Division Cricket League. Spearheaded by an exceptional all-round performance by Shasheem Rathore, who contributed 87 runs and claimed two crucial wickets, along with a solid half-century from Piyush Kumar Singh (76 runs), PESU clinched the match by six wickets. This victory ensured PESU’s second-place finish in Pool C, with YMCC leading the pool standings while ERCC settled for fourth place.
Opting to bat first after winning the toss, ERCC, led by captain Bunty Kumar, posted a competitive total of 230 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 40 overs. Vinay Kumar’s blistering half-century, scoring 79 runs off 75 balls, powered ERCC’s innings, supported by contributions from Satyam Jha (36 runs), Saurabh Tiwari (45 runs), Vivek Kumar (25 runs), and an unbeaten knock of 20 runs from Abhinav Singh. For PESU, Shasheem Rathore led the bowling attack with two wickets, while Pawan, Rahul Rathore, and Rajesh Kumar Sinha claimed a wicket each.
