Patna: Bihar’s emerging archery talent will get a major platform as the capital city Patna hosts the three-day fourth Raja Karn Bihar State Archery Championship ‘Lakshya’ 2026 from September 27.
Raveendran Sankaran, Director General-cum-Chief Executive Officer of the Bihar State Sports Authority, said the state-level championship is being organised by the Sports Department and Bihar State Sports Authority at the Pataliputra Sports Complex.
As many as 330 archers from different districts of Bihar will compete in the championship, showcasing their accuracy and skills. The event will feature 180 boys and 150 girls. Competitions will be held in the Under-10, Under-13, Under-15, sub-junior and junior categories.
Sankaran said the state government was making continuous efforts for the overall development of sports and athletes. State-level competitions were an important part of these efforts, helping identify sporting talent from different parts of Bihar.
“Our objective is not merely to organise competitions, but to identify talented players through these events and provide them with proper training and guidance,” he said.
He added that the players would be groomed under the guidance of skilled coaches and prepared for national and international competitions, with the aim of helping them win medals for Bihar and the country in the future.
