Patna: The 52nd Bihar State Junior Boys’ Kabaddi Championship, being held at the Pataliputra Sports Complex in Kankarbagh, has entered its final stage. Patna, Saran, Bhojpur and Buxar booked their places in the semi-finals after impressive performances in the quarter-finals. The two semi-finals and the final will be played on Thursday, bringing the three-day tournament to a close.
The closing ceremony will be attended by Raveendran Sankaran, Director General of the Bihar State Sports Authority (BSSA), as the chief guest. He will present trophies, medals and awards to the champions, runners-up and outstanding players.
In the first quarter-final on Wednesday, Saran cruised to a commanding 35-9 victory over Gaya to secure a place in the last four. Saran dominated the contest from start to finish, giving Gaya no opportunity to stage a comeback.
Hosts Patna produced an outstanding display in the second quarter-final, defeating Begusarai 53-30. Patna excelled in both raiding and defence to register a comprehensive victory.
In the third quarter-final, Bhojpur overcame Darbhanga 41-29 to qualify for the semi-finals. Bhojpur pulled away in the second half by scoring a series of points to seal the win.
Buxar completed the semi-final line-up with a convincing 42-18 victory over Lakhisarai in the final quarter-final of the day. The team delivered a balanced and aggressive performance throughout the match.
Patna will face Saran in the first semi-final, while Buxar will take on Bhojpur in the second. The winners will meet in the final to decide the new Bihar State Junior Boys’ Kabaddi champions.
The tournament will conclude with the closing ceremony following the final matches. Ravindra Shankaran will encourage the players and honour the winners, runners-up and outstanding performers with trophies, medals and prizes.
Kabaddi enthusiasts are now eagerly awaiting to see which district will lift the title of the 52nd Bihar State Junior Boys’ Kabaddi Championship this year.
