Patna: The rainy season is set to return to Bihar, with the Patna Meteorological Department forecasting rain in several districts in the coming days, which will lead to a drop in temperature. Fog has already been observed in various districts during the mornings and evenings, resulting in reduced use of fans and air conditioners. With the anticipated temperature drop after 23rd October, residents may soon require quilts and blankets.
According to SK Patel, a scientist at the Patna Meteorological Department, while there are no significant weather changes at present, a notable shift is expected soon. He predicts an increase in wind speed after 22nd October, which will enhance the sensation of cold. Furthermore, he mentioned that rainfall is likely in many parts of the state from 23rd October onwards, causing a decrease in temperature.
Patel explained that a cyclonic circulation has formed at an altitude of 5.8 km above sea level around the south-eastern and western-central parts of the Bay of Bengal, which is inclined towards the south-west. This system is expected to influence Bihar’s weather. Once the rain begins on 23rd October, the cold will intensify as temperatures continue to fall. Wind speeds during this period are expected to range between 15-20 km/h and could reach up to 40 km/h in several districts.
