
Patna: On the third day of the Bihar State Inter-District School Girls Athletics Championships, the Patna district team maintained its lead on the medal table with a total of 7 gold, 8 silver, and 6 bronze medals. Siwan district’s team claimed two gold medals on Friday, moving into second place with a total of 7 gold and 2 bronze medals. Gaya district, with 5 gold, 2 silver, and 5 bronze medals, and West Champaran, with 5 gold, 2 silver, and 4 bronze medals, secured the third and fourth positions, respectively.
The championships, held at the Patliputra Sports Complex, saw outstanding performances on the third day. Kamini Kumari of Gaya (800m and 1500m) in the Under-19 category, Gulli Kumari of Siwan (800m and 1500m) and Saumya Rai of Siwan (Shotput and Discus) in the Under-17 category, and Bindiya Kumari of West Champaran (400m and 600m) and Yasmin Parveen of Patna (High Jump and Long Jump) in the Under-14 category, all won double gold medals for their respective districts.
Winners from the day’s events were awarded medals and certificates by Om Prakash, District Sports Officer, Patna-cum-Organising Secretary.
