Patna: The Regional Transport Authority has launched an innovative initiative to streamline the traffic system and alleviate congestion in Patna city and its surrounding areas. As part of this plan, the city has been divided into three zones—Yellow, Green, and Blue. Around 25,000 autos and e-rickshaws will operate based on the newly established routes and the zone-based system.
Under this new scheme, QR codes will be affixed to all autos and e-rickshaws. By scanning the code, passengers can instantly access detailed information about the vehicle and its driver. This feature is expected to significantly enhance passenger safety.
Drivers operating autos outside their designated zones will face fines. However, reserved autos from key locations such as railway stations, airports, and bus stands will be permitted to operate across all three zones.
Designated parking spots will be identified within each zone to ensure orderly operations. Additionally, police stations will be tagged with their respective zones and routes for better coordination. The application process for operating autos on these routes will commence soon, ensuring that only authorised vehicles are allowed on the designated paths.
This initiative aims to provide smoother transportation, improve traffic management, and enhance passenger safety in Patna.
