Patna: NMCC will face Anisabad Cricket Club in the final of the Indradev Rai Memorial Cricket Tournament at Sanjay Gandhi Stadium, Patna, on Wednesday, 10 January. The tournament is being organised under the aegis of Kumar Club.
In the second semi-final, played on Tuesday, 7 January, NMCC defeated National AC by four wickets to secure their spot in the final. The chief guest for the final will be former Bihar Industry Minister Samir Kumar Mahaseth, while former Mayor Shyam Babu Rai will attend as the special guest.
National AC, opting to bat first after winning the toss, managed 135 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs. Deepu Kumar top-scored with 47 runs, while Suraj Kumar contributed 38 runs. The NMCC bowling attack, led by Alok Kumar and Kumar Shan, kept the scoring in check with crucial breakthroughs.
In response, NMCC chased down the target in 18.3 overs, scoring 138 runs for six wickets. Vikas Krishna played a pivotal role with 38 runs, while Rajesh Kumar’s unbeaten 29 ensured victory. Kumar Shan’s all-round performance, which included three wickets and a vital contribution with the bat, earned him the Player of the Match award, presented by Kumar Club Treasurer Anjani Kumar Sinha.
