Patna: JD(U) leader Nishant Kumar is set to begin a statewide tour of Bihar from next month, with the party intensifying preparations for the outreach programme. The detailed roadmap for the tour will be finalised at the party’s national executive meeting scheduled for later this month.
Key decisions regarding the structure of the yatra — including its phases, duration, and allocation of responsibilities among party leaders — will be taken at the meeting. Following this, Nishant Kumar is expected to hit the ground in May alongside party leaders and workers.
In recent party events, Nishant Kumar has consistently emphasised the need to take the development work carried out under the leadership of Nitish Kumar to the people. He has stressed the importance of direct engagement with citizens to understand their issues and ensure timely redressal.
According to sources, Nishant Kumar had expressed his desire to undertake a statewide tour at the time of formally joining the party. The plan is now being translated into action.
During the tour, he is expected to visit villages across Bihar, interact with residents, hold meetings with party workers, and focus on strengthening the organisation. Efforts will also be made to address public grievances at the grassroots level.
The party is currently deliberating on the number of phases of the tour and the districts to be covered in each stage. Further details are likely to be announced soon.
Meanwhile, the NDA government formed under the leadership of Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary is scheduled to seek a vote of confidence in the Assembly on April 24. The second session of the 18th Bihar Legislative Assembly has been convened for the same day, with proceedings set to commence at 11 am.
According to a communication issued by Secretariat Director Rajeev Kumar, the session has been called for a single day. Preparations, including security arrangements, seating plans, and the legislative agenda, are currently being finalised by the Assembly Secretariat.
