Patna: A new cyber police station is set to be constructed near Gandhi Maidan in Patna. Additionally, land will be allocated for 11 SDPO offices, eight fire stations, and several landless police stations in the district. Efforts are also being made to identify land for OP (outposts) and police lines.
District Magistrate Dr Chandrashekhar Singh conducted a review of the progress on land marking for various public welfare projects, including landless police stations, OPs, police lines, fire stations, and newly formed offices in the district. He instructed the Additional Collector to expedite the availability of suitable land, ensuring it meets government standards, and to work in coordination with the Circle Officers (COs) to speed up the process. The DM emphasised the importance of swiftly resolving matters related to land transfer and obtaining NOCs, with a directive to settle such cases within a week.
Dr Singh also reviewed the draft plans for police stations and OPs across various subdivisions, including Garunna, Pipra, Kevara, Patna Sadar, and Patna City. This includes land allocation for police stations and OPs in areas such as Gandhi Setu, Karbhaiya, 11 newly established SDPO offices, Gandhi Maidan, Rajiv Nagar, Shastri Nagar, Bihta, Naubatpur, Ramakrishna Nagar, Chowk, Punpun, Bikram, Bakhtiyarpur, and Didarganj.
The DM urged all COs to take prompt action in marking the land and instructed SDOs and SDPOs to immediately remove any obstacles hindering the construction of police station buildings on marked land. He called for strict measures to be taken against anti-social elements that obstruct the process. A proposal has been submitted for the allocation of 20 acres for the police line, 20-28 decimals for fire stations, and designated areas for the police stations.
