Patna: The hearing in the NEET paper leak case was held in Patna on Tuesday. The anticipatory bail petition filed by Sanjeev Mukhiya, along with the bail petitions of all 13 accused, was heard in the court of ADJ-5. The court declared that all future hearings in this case will be conducted exclusively in the special court of the CBI.

The court informed the public prosecutor that the case has been transferred to the central investigating agency, instructing them to notify the court along with the order paper. Advocate Uday Shankar Singh noted that the prosecution has applied to withdraw the bail applications of two applicants, Akhilesh Kumar (application number 1668) and Ayush (application number 1078). The anticipatory bail petition for the main accused, Sanjeev Mukhiya, is scheduled for a hearing on July 15 in the special CBI court.

On May 5, a total of 13 individuals, including 12 men and one woman, were arrested in connection with the NEET paper leak case at Shastri Nagar police station in Patna. Subsequent investigations led to further arrests, and those initially apprehended were placed in judicial custody. The investigation was then handed over to the Economic Offences Unit (EOU), which resulted in additional arrests in Bihar and Jharkhand.

Sanjeev Mukhiya was also implicated in case number 358/24 registered at Shastri Nagar police station. Although he initially obtained a non-coercive order from the court preventing his arrest in this case, his name repeatedly surfaced during the EOU investigation. Now, the CBI will take over the investigation and future hearings will be held in the special CBI court.
